Many people only like Sean Connery's portrayal. Well I like the "Bond Girls" no matter who Bond is. The Connery purists can only miss out!

My take on the movie…
I, as an avid tekie, am always interested in emerging technology. I decided to see this movie as I would any other presentation that involved some new imaging technique. Based on a video game I had not played, I went in knowing nothing of the story line and had to do a quick study. 
I had been told by someone, “they didn’t even show how the aliens came.” But that didn’t bother me. 
I was engrossed by the extraordinary visuals. Animated characters with facial features so real they were believable… Hair that blew in the wind… but when the “camera” pulled back, you could see the animation for what it was. Although the characters were very good, I can’t see them replacing real people soon.
Facts: 200 Artists from 20 different countries worked 3 years to create this, in a studio in Honolulu (where I live).

1984 saw the first use of a super computer (CRAY), to create a graphic spaceship,
 that looked and moved as if real. The movie "The Last Starfighter"


In 1958 The movie 7th Voyage of Sinbad used "stop motion photography" termed
Dynamation to create the monsters etc. Although not Computer graphics,
it was a new method of integrating people with clay models.
